WHAT: The Moral of the Story is an educational performing arts program where participants learn about classic pieces of literature, the authors and the history surrounding the pieces. They extract the moral themes from the literature and write new plays based on those themes. Participants will work on their dance, music, art, acting, singing, critical thinking, problem solving, writing and overall performance skills. This program helps participants improve their grades, especially in language arts. More specific details about this camp available under the "Summer Camp" tab on the "Program and Classes" page.
The Melanie Thornton Youth Arts Foundation has joined forces with the CETPA Prevention Clubhouse (The Clinic for Education, Treatment and Prevention of Addiction) in presenting 2015's "The Moral of the Story" Summer Performing Arts Camp. Along with learning about and experiencing theater arts our kids will also learn about and how to avoid the pitfalls of drug and alcohol addiction.
